Serving as the ACLU of Arizona’s executive director (interim) since October 2023, Scott Greenwood is a constitutional rights attorney and is nationally renowned for his passionate engagement in defending civil rights and civil liberties. Scott comes to us most recently from the ACLU of Hawai'i, where he served as executive director (interim) from October 2022 until a planned leadership transition

Scott has a long and deep history of leadership with the ACLU spanning over thirty years, having served as general counsel to the ACLU and as a member of its governing national board and executive committee. Earlier in his career, Scott served as general counsel to the ACLU of Ohio, overseeing its litigation across the state, and served on its executive committee and board for over two decades. Prior to his service in Hawai'i, Scott was a member of the ACLU of Arizona board. 

Scott currently serves as a director for the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation, overseeing state legal aid funding and programming; as treasurer and director for one-n-ten, a Phoenix-based nonprofit providing services to LGBTQIA+ youth; and as treasurer to the Southwest Conference of the United Church of Christ, in Phoenix.
