Today, the Arizona State House passed HCR 2060, a sweeping anti-immigrant ballot referral that will bypass the governor’s desk to be placed on the 2024 ballot for voter consideration in November. Noah Schramm, border policy strategist for the ACLU of Arizona, shared the following reaction.

Today, Arizona State Senators voted to advance HCR 2060, an extreme, unconstitutional, and anti-immigrant ballot referral that would apply new state penalties to violations of federal immigration law. It will next be considered in the House.
