PHOENIX–The Maricopa County Superior Court ruled late Friday in favor of five-year-old Zander Welton, finding that his parents and physicians could resume treating his seizure disorder with a marijuana extract.
PHOENIX — The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) of Maricopa County today appealed the dismissal of their challenge to Arizona’s discriminatory race- and sex-based abortion ban (HB 2443).
PHOENIX – Arizona governor Jan Brewer today vetoed a controversial law that would have opened the door for discrimination against any group based on religious objections. In particular, SB 1062 would have allowed businesses and service providers to refuse to serve LGBT people.
PHOENIX - ACLU of Arizona Legal Director Dan Pochoda sent a letter today to Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, City Manager Ed Zuercher and Police Chief Daniel V. Garcia urging them to allow protestors to continue fasting in front of ICE headquarters in downtown Phoenix.
Full-time Arizona State University student and activist Monica Jones and her attorneys, with support from the American Civil Liberties Union and Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox, filed an appeal today of her conviction under Phoenix’s “manifesting” intent to engage in prostitution ordinance.
