The ACLU of Arizona is collaborating with families and schools to end the systemic problems that cause schools to remove students from the classroom. The Demand to Learn campaign aims to identify the Maricopa County schools that push out the most students. We then want to provide families and administrators with policy guidance and resources that will help those schools address students’ challenges and needs instead of increasing student suspensions, expulsions, and referrals to law enforcement.
Attendees will review data from Maricopa County schools and districts and are encouraged to bring laptops and/or tablets.
Parents, guardians, teachers, and concerned community members are welcome. This is a free event, but space is limited.
