Today, the ACLU of Arizona joined with twelve advocacy organizations and four lawmakers to sign a letter of demand to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The letter urges the Board to appoint an interim county attorney to replace Bill Montgomery who will immediately begin work to reduce the prison population. The letter also calls for the Board to only appoint an interim county attorney who has pledged to not seek election in 2020. The full letter can be read here.

The ACLU of Arizona is encouraging Maricopa County residents to submit their own letters to the Board of Supervisors. You can do so by visiting: bit.ly/smartjusticenow.
