President Trump's war on asylum seekers and policy that separated thousands of children from their parents are the latest dark chapters in a decades-long trend. 100 migrants are processed in Tucson's Federal Court every day for entering the Southern Arizona border. Many of these migrants face criminal charges because of an obscure, yet powerful section of the criminal code: Section 1325 of Title 8 of U.S. Code. At the same time, they are trying to defend themselves against the civil process of deportation, a court process that does not entitle them to legal representation.
