Bio

Karen Cabarga was born and raised in the border town of Douglas, Arizona. After community college, she attended the Arizona State University where she went to Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions and received her Bachelor’s in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. After graduation, she worked for Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) as the Coordinator of Special Initiatives & Network Engagement, where she assisted with planning HIP’s Annual Leadership Conferences, philanthropic dinners, and learning trips. At the ACLU of Arizona, Karen plans on utilizing her skillset and passion to cultivate relationships with donors to help protect the rights of immigrants, prisoners and voters. When Karen is not working, she enjoys going back home to visit her family, spend time with her two dogs, have carne asadas, and dance to cumbias.
