Although it has been more than a decade since SB 1070 was passed by the Legislature and Joe Arpaio no longer serves as Maricopa County Sheriff, Arizonans continue to experience discrimination, hostility, and civil rights violations due to perceived immigration status. As a result, protecting immigrants’ rights remains a critical issue for the ACLU of Arizona.
