PHOENIXToday, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that businesses do not have a blanket license to discriminate in Brush & Nib v. City of Phoenix but issued a specific order applicable only to the Phoenix business. ACLU of Arizona Policy Director Darrell Hill made the following statement:

"While today's limited decision from the Arizona Supreme Court is disappointing, it does not grant businesses a license to discriminate. Discrimination has no place in our state, and we call on all local businesses to make it clear that they are open to all. We'll keep fighting to ensure protections for LGBT Arizonans so that no one can be fired from their job, denied a place to live, or be turned away from a business simply because of who they are and who they love."
