Due process is the principle that the government must respect all of the legal rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This principle gives individuals the ability to enforce their rights against violations by the government. The ACLU of Arizona recognizes this fundamental principle and works to protect fairness, justice and liberty for all.

ICE Deports Non-Spanish Speaking American Citizen to Mexico [BLOG]
How does a U.S. citizen who has never been to Mexico, speaks no Spanish and shares no Mexican heritage end up being deported there, spending the next four months living on the streets and in the shelters and prisons of Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua and Guatemala? It's just the latest instance of blatant disregard for the rights and well being of people with mental disabilities by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

ACLU Screens Documentary on Military Tribunals
PHOENIX – As the Obama administration works toward its deadline of closing the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona will screen a film on Thursday, October 8th documenting the civil liberties implications of military tribunals.

ACLU and NACDL Assembling Guantanamo Defense Teams
NEW YORK – In order to protect American values of fairness and justice and the constitutional guarantee of due process, the American Civil Liberties Union, together with National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), announced today that it is assembling defense teams to be available to assist in the representation of detainees facing prosecution in the military commissions proceedings at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
