Your support is  necessary to protect civil liberties. The ACLU accepts no government support, and never charges for representing clients. Membership dues and gifts from individuals like you provide the foundation for all we are able to accomplish.

Is My Personal Information Safe?
The ACLU cares about protecting your privacy and keeping your information confidential. This website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, but no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100 percent secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Is My Credit Card Safe?
If you choose to make an online donation to the ACLU, you will have to provide your credit card billing information. Because this information is collected and transferred over the Internet to our secure server, it is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, the industry standard security technology that is designed to protect sensitive information. If you are making a donation, the credit card information that you provide at the time of donation is used only to process your donation and will not be used by us for any other purposes.
