The 2010 session of the Arizona Legislature starts Monday, January 11th and the number one issue on the agenda will be closing the multibillion dollar budget shortfall in 2010. 

But, as we grapple with the most serious financial crisis in Arizona history, the state continues to transfer $55 million per year from its general fund to the coffers of some of the largest private, sectarian schools in the state through tuition tax credit programs that benefit wealthy taxpayers and powerful corporations.

The ACLU of Arizona is in court fighting two tuition tax credit programs in an effort to help support your neighborhood public schools and keep government out of the business of religion.
