ABOUT US

Founded in 1959, the ACLU of Arizona was formed by a small group of civil libertarians who recognized the importance of having an institution that would stand in defense of liberty in this state. Those few shared the conviction that the preservation of liberty requires a vigilant defense of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Today, the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Arizona is responsible for public education programs and litigation in defense of civil liberties.
